Lakes and Recreation
Little Alum
This 73 Acre body of water has a maximum depth of 42 ft water. This is great for water skiing, swimming and fishing. Little Alum is stocked in the spring and fall and has a large population of largemouth bass, chain pickerel, yellow and white perch, pumpkinseed, bluegill, golden shiner, longear sunfish and brown bullhead.
East Brimfield Dam
This 420 acre body of water has a maximum depth of 22 ft. It has limited recreation and it’s primarily function is for flood control, stocked in the spring. The fish population consists of large and smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, white and yellow perch, brown trout, black crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, brown and yellow bullheads, golden and bridled shiners, alewives and killifish
Brimfield State Forest
This 3,250 acre park is owned and managed by Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. It has 20-miles of roads and trails which are great for bikes, hikes, horseback, etc. Dean pond recreation area has swimming, a pavilion, picnic area, and restroom located on western side of park.
Lake Sherman
This 70 acre body of water is very shallow with maximum depth of about 12 feet (depending on rainfall). We are still looking for more information on Lake Sherman so please contact Scott@BrimfieldNews.com if you have anything to share. Thank you.
